EFI Hardware has been designing and manufacturing customised intake and individual throttle body (ITB) systems for more than 30 years.
Due to the extensive range of configurations, applications and customisation options available across our intake and ITB kits, we do not keep every possible combination pre-assembled and ready to ship. The ability to tailor a kit to your engine, vehicle, horsepower target and specific requirements is a fundamental part of what we offer.
All intake manifold and ITB kits identified as "made to order" have a minimum lead time of 4 weeks from the date your deposit or full payment is received.
This is a genuine manufacturing lead time, not simply an estimate for dispatch. Payment received places your order into our production queue and allows us to begin preparing and manufacturing the components required specifically for your kit.
Depending on the configuration, this process may involve:
Manufacturing fuel rails and other components in-house specifically for your application
CNC machining and finishing components
Preparing and assembling throttle bodies and associated hardware
Sourcing application-specific components
Having components anodised or otherwise professionally finished
Arranging casting of lower intake manifolds and other cast components
Preparing, machining and finishing cast components
Selecting and preparing the correct hardware and ancillary components
Final assembly, inspection and quality control before dispatch
Many of these processes involve multiple manufacturing stages and, in some cases, external suppliers. Consequently, a kit cannot always be assembled simply by picking components from stock.
Our intake and ITB systems are not mass-produced, off-the-shelf products. A single order may contain components manufactured specifically for that particular combination of engine, throttle body, fuel system and vehicle.
For example, a fuel rail may need to be manufactured to suit the exact injector and throttle body configuration of your kit, while other components may need to be machined, anodised, cast or sourced specifically for the application.
The 4-week minimum therefore allows sufficient time for the various manufacturing, finishing, procurement, assembly and quality-control stages to be completed correctly.
We would rather provide a realistic lead time from the outset than promise immediate dispatch and subsequently leave you waiting for components to be manufactured.
Four weeks is the minimum lead time and should be used when planning your project.
Some orders may be completed sooner depending on the configuration and availability of all required components. Where we know at the time of order confirmation that your kit can be completed significantly sooner, we will advise you.
Conversely, particularly complex configurations or circumstances outside our control may require additional time. If we anticipate a lead time materially longer than four weeks, we will advise you as soon as practical.
Actual production time can vary depending on:
Current production and assembly workload
Material and component availability
Supplier lead times
CNC machining requirements
Availability of casting, anodising and other external finishing services
Custom or non-standard specifications
Engineering or design requirements
Availability of application-specific components
Manufacturing or supplier delays outside our control
Public holidays and scheduled factory closures
If your intake or ITB kit is required for a specific installation date, dyno session, race event or vehicle build deadline, please allow more than the minimum 4-week lead time wherever possible.
If you have a firm deadline, contact us before placing your order and we can assess the current production schedule and advise whether your required timeframe is achievable.
Please do not assume that an item marked "made to order" is available for immediate dispatch. The 4-week minimum lead time applies unless a different timeframe has been specifically confirmed by EFI Hardware.
We appreciate your patience while your kit is being manufactured and prepared. The additional time is what allows us to continue offering the level of application-specific customisation and in-house manufacturing that EFI Hardware has provided for more than 30 years.
